RICHARDS, Ron - Ron Richards passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 in his 71st year.
Ron was a true athlete and sports fanatic. He played old-timers hockey, was a passionate golfer, all-season cyclist and a natural at bowling, cards and pool.
He was a longtime teacher at Waterford District High School and Simcoe Composite School. Ron was an active member and volunteer in the Norfolk community for many years, Board Member of the Norfolk Community Foundation and a proud member and supporter of the Waterford Legion.
BEVEN, Gerald - Gerry passed away at Foxridge Care Community, on Tuesday October 25, 2022 from diabetes and Dementia complications. He was in his 78th yr. Beloved Partner of Patricia (Pat) Rundle, predeceased in September, 2021. Loving father to Angela Bevan Blood, Jerry(Val) and Ian. Step father to Heather(Dave), Michelle(Deron) and Tom(Sophia). Together with Pat they shared many grandchildren and Great grandchildren. Gerry was a long haul Truck Driver most of his life. He enjoyed life on the road, but always happy to be home in Waterford or golfing at The greens.
He never met a stranger, as once you talked to him, you were a friend.
He was known for his short stature and big friendly heart. He had the biggest personality and was known by all as, son, brother, uncle, truck driver, father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and also equally Golfer, traveller, hugger, flirt, kisser and cuddler. "Whatever"

Margaret Postill passed away surrounded by family on Monday, April 25, 2022.
As an active Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary member since 1960, she joined the Waterford branch in1964. She was a life-time member of the L.A. and received the Meritorious Service Award in 2002 for her dedicated community service. Margaret held a variety of positions including President, Past President, Zone Commander of Zone B1 and held the office of District Sport Officer.

John worked with his father Tommy in the family-owned business, Pursley Paving, which began in 1947. At his father’s passing he operated the business until his retirement in 2019. On Thursday, September 9, 2021, Patricia “Pat” Rundle passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Algonquin Grace Hospice following a short but furious fight with cancer. Avid golfer and Member of Branch 123, Pat died the way she lived, stubbornly refusing to leave the party until she had given cancer a black eye.

REID, Gary On Tuesday, August 27, 2019 in his 71st year He will be deeply missed by his wife Sharon of 50 years, his children Melissa (and Aaron), Jenny and his fur baby Preston. Gary was a 45 year Associate member of Branch 123. He was the owner operator of Waterford Hardware and Appliance for 47 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for 27 years, past president of the Chamber of Commerce, worked with Crime Stoppers and volunteered on many occasions.

Peggy was a Veteran of World War 2 working in the Radar Division of the army. She met her husband William and they married and came to Canada in 1946. They lived in Villa Nova raising their family. Peggy enjoyed many crafts, baking was her specialty and knitting was her pleasure making many items for her children, grandchildren and others. SMITH, Mary Jolly - November 28, 1919 - January 4, 2019. Assosciate Member of Branch 123. Mary's journey began in Scotland and reached its final destination point in British Columbia. She proudly supported the war effort through her work in a munitions factory in Glasgow. Mary immigrated to Canada where she married Tom Smith(deceased) and raised their son Ian in Waterford. Mary supported various community events through the local Legion and Ladies Auxiliary. A Celebration of Life was held at the Waterford Legion.

HEXAMER, Peter Roy - April 15, 1944 - December 4, 2018
Ordinary Member of Branch 123. Peter leaves to mourn him, his wife Patricia (nee Atkin); children Tom (Michelle) and Ashley (Nathan Collver) Jakovljevic; grandchildren and grand- adults. No matter the role or size of a task, Peter always strove to give 110%. His energy and enthusiasm followed him in every endeavour from home repair projects, to his electrical business, to his time in politics, to his contributions on numerous community boards and committees, to helping a neighbour or cheering on his grandchildren. At Peter’s request there was a private family visitation followed by cremation.

GAUTHIER, Gerard Georges "Gerry" Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 29, 2016, in his 92nd year. Loving husband of the late Noella Beaudoin. Loving father of Ginette Atkinson (Peter), Claudette Fleury (Noel), Monique Langille (Allen), Michel Gauthier (Cindy), and Daniel Gauthier (Billie Jo). Gerry was retired from Amcan Castings after 37 years of service as well as 20 years of service as a Concession Manager at Burlington Beach Amusement Park. Ray started as a welder at Stelco in Hamilton and accepted a transfer to Stelco in Nanticoke at which time he moved his family to the Waterford area. Ray was a proud member of the Waterford Legion Branch #123 and dedicated many hours of volunteer work at the legion. Ray wanted to be a farmer in every sense of the word, but knew enough about farming, he would leave it to the professionals.
