A Proud History
The building that became the Orange Hall was originally located at the corner of Main St and Temperance St. The upper story was removed when it was moved to Mechanic St. The building was rented from 1928 until 1948 and was the original home of Br 123.
The Waterford-Townsend Memorial Hall on St. James St was purchased in 1948 by the Civilian War Services Committee and the Village of Waterford. In 1949, Br 123 accepted responsibility for the building and it became the second home. The final move took place in April of 1974 when the Legion moved into its current location at 223 Nichol St.
